Friction
Warmup:
1) What is the force of friction missing?
2) What is the direction the refrigerator is moving?
3) How is it moving, at a constant speed or speeding up or slowing down?

1) Kinetic and Static Friction Exploration
Use the Friction App Below and Answer the following Questions
1. What direction does Friction push?
2. What do you notice about friction (and applied force) in the following situations:
A. Before the object moves?
B. After the object is moving?
3. Compare the moving friction and the non-moving friction amounts.
4. Look up the definition of kinetic and static frictions, and write them down.

2) Factors Affecting Friction Exploration
As a class we will discuss possible factors that affect friction.
3) Factors of Friction Experiment
Create an Experiment with your group to test one of the possible factors of Friction. You must include the following in Lab Report (one per group)
- Research Question
- Hypothesis
- Variables (controlled variables explained)
- Method
- Image
- Table (include 3 trials of at least 5 levels)
- Graph
- Conclusion (What did you see)
- Errors and Improvements.
4) Sharing of Results
After you graph and show your results we will present it to the class.
5) Positives and Negatives of Friction
As a class we will discuss positives and negatives of friction.
